    What is the performance difference, Iridium Satellite vs. GlobalStar satellite communication systems?  I have heard that GlobalStar is having problems, their website currently has a warning about the constellations capacity to transfer data is limited by problems with a onbaird modem failure ...

     There is an excellent report by Frost and Sullivan that explains the differences (see link above).  NRG Satellite iPacks use the Iridium network.
