New Information on Internet Time Servers

The time server 'time-a.nist.gov' no longer works.  I have found a list of valid time servers that you can use in the "Internet Time Server" box on the 'Mail Access' tab in the Modify iPack Settings Window.  This link will take you to a page with different time servers. "wwv.nist.gov" has been tested and works. "nist1-atl.ustiming.org" has been tested and works.

Older iPacks use a RFC-868 time server while the new iPack GPS units use SNTP time servers.

The two above time servers will work with both types of iPacks.

Pearse, Can you confirm that the time server we should be using now is "wwv.nist.gov" not "www.nist.gov"? I find it odd that there is that "v" in there instead of the expected "w" for world wide web. Thanks, Luke

     Hello Luke,

The time server you want to use is "wwv.nist.gov". I agree that 'wwv' is odd, but I have used it and can confirm that it works. Let me know if you run into any problems.
