IceFree3 Wind Vane accuracy

Hi Guys The specifications for the IceFree3 wind vane gives its accuracy as "potentiometer linearity within 1% ". Can anyone tell me what this would be in degrees? Link to specs page: http://www.nrgsystems.com/sitecore/content/Products/2450.aspx?pf=HeatedSensors Thanks in advance for your help...

The Thies "First Class" vane will work with Symphonie if the following is observed: MUST use 4.3150.xx.210, other models will NOT work Do not use AGND because it requires 4V excitation (may not work well with Symphonie's 2.5V excitation). I have attached an apnote for wiring Thies sensors...

Re: IceFree3 Vane Offset/Slope Values

For future reference, the IceFree3 Vane (FG2442) and 200P have the same offset and slope values: slope: 0.351 offset: 0 (based on orientation of boom) This slope value has to do with the A/D converter of the logger. The 0.351 slope is based on the Symphonie logger's 10-bit A/D converter. More info...

I can't speak to the color of the wires, but the connection of the sensor's outputs should be just like wiring a 200P wind vane. Excitation Signal Ground As long as you have the potentiometer-based output the Thies vane will work with a 3152 Vane SCM in any of the SymphoniePLUS's analog slots...

Symphonie doesn't record the minimum values of wind direction correctly

Hi, I realized that the Symphonie doesn't record the minimum value of wind direction correctly. The value are always zero, or 345 for example. Otherwise, the max value, standard deviation and average value are ok. What is the motive for this? Is there anything to correct this? Thanks, Erick Castro...

A potentiometer wind vane such as the NRG 200P has 3 connection points. One at either end of the potentiometer and one at the potentiometer wiper.
