Why use a 5-part line for raising and lowering the 80m tower?

Recommended Posts

Raising and lowering the tower requires two pulley-block lines and an additional ?dead end? line affixed to the gin pole rocker plate. A five-part line is necessary to ensure equal distribution of the tower lift load across the base plate. Without the five-part line, the two-fifths (2/5), two-fifths (2/5), and one-fifth (1/5) load distribution from the top to the bottom of the rocker plate is disrupted and can result in gin pole failure.
