  1. It appears that you are working with exported data files from a SymphoniePLUS3 or older logger. The files the logger creates are in RWD format - a proprietary binary encoded file. The data in these files is stored as raw counts and pulses; unscaled. At the time of export, the data is scaled. it may be scaled per the logger settings (stored in the file) or scaled using settings in the Site file. The information in the header of the exported data, as you show in your original post, indicates how the sensor was scaled at the time of export. If you wish to change the scaling of the data in the export, the best approach is to: Change the scaling for the desired channels in the Site file Re-import the RWD files Re-export the data to TXT using the updated settings.   3. The hardware revision numbers relate to the firmware/hardware of the logger and iPack. You're getting this message because the site file record for the iPack firmware is 057. The new data file coming in shows that the iPack's firmware has been UPGRADED to 062. If you click YES when you get this message, it will update your site file to include this new record and you will no longer get this message. I hope that helps.   5. Great question... The third line of text on the display will show the subject of emails it finds in the POP inbox. In this case, it's showing that there is an email in the iPack's inbox with a message subject starting with "Microsoft Office...." It is a good idea to keep the iPack's inbox clean so that it uses less data, and can quickly access a Patch file if you have sent one. In this case I recommend logging into the iPack's mail account and manually deleting the emails that have accumulated.

This application is helpful as it is prepopulated with the correct input register entries. Click OK to connect. Click the Input registers radio button. Enter the input registers you want to read, and click Add (or hit the Enter key). In this example I’m reading registers 2001 – 2005 for some time data. I had recently helped a customer configure automatic file extraction on a Mac computer, and thought I would share the details here.   This option works for all builds of Windows, MacOS and Linux, and can be used for data files from any Symphonie data logger - including SymphoniePRO     Install Mozilla Thunderbird (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/) Search for the Add-on “attachment extractor” [sharedmedia=core:attachments:32]   Install it Restart Thunderbird In the Add-ons manager, under Extensions click Preferences for the AttachmentExtractor [sharedmedia=core:attachments:31]   Configure it to handle the files as you like. Note that there are many options for customizing this process.

  9. The SNTP error means it is unable to connect to the time server. Check your iPack configuration file > Email Configuration tab. I have used time-a.nist.gov. This is a server I know to be working; you may use it too.
  10. Great question! For SCADA communication the iPackACCESS is necessary. It acts as a MODBUS server to allow access to all 1-second sample data from a SymphoniePLUS3. It also allows for custom-configured statistical data interval lengths of 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes.   11. Hi Met Man, Sorry to hear about that. Were these capital .RWD files or lower case .rwd files? Capital RWD data files are pulled directly from the logger's memory card (MMC or SD, depending on logger type). Lower case .rwd files are those sent as email attachments by an iPack. Sometimes the files sent by iPacks can get corrupted in transit. This is rare, but happens from time to time. If you find that the file is of this type, see if you can track down the original RWD on the memory card. If the file is the capital RWD version, taken directly from the memory card then the logger may be struggling through low batteries, or may have suffered an ESD event. If many files are showing this issue you may want to consider swapping out the logger and sending it in for repair.
  12. If you have a SymphoniePLUS3 logger you can connect directly to the Universal Counter channels (1-3, 13-15). For SymphoniePLUS and Symphonie Classic loggers you will need the Digital Anemometer SCM in the counter channels 4-6.

If the sensor fails the tests in in the attached document the potentiometer may be damaged. The component you saw is not a capacitor, it is an ESD protection device to short all voltage spikes to ground.
  14. Hi Cee, The iPackGPS units include a small whip antenna. This antenna is about 20 cm tall, and has a magnetic base that will stick to the tower or shelter box surface. No boom is necessary. Dave
