Matt Riley Posted April 6, 2009 Report Share Posted April 6, 2009 The #40C and #40H Anemometers feature drainage ports in the base ofthe sensor within the boom mounting tube. Exposure to water and moisture is a given in most anemometer field applications. As long as the sensor is allowed to properly drain, this should not affect the sensor's capabilities. However, if asolid post boom is used, the drainage ports can become blocked, preventing proper sensor drainage. NRG recommends mounting #40 Anemometers on hollow booms to allow for drainage.
