Can you describe the guy-wire tensioning process? Can you adjust guy-wire lengths while lifting?

Recommended Posts

Yes, you can adjust guy lengths while lifting and adjust the tensioning as needed. The magnitude of the tension forces ? 375 lbs for the 3/8 inch cable and 255 lbs for the 5/16 in cable ? requires use of a mechanical assist. We used a technique described in the ANSI standard, the Tangent Intercept Method, which is a line-of-sight method. More information about this method for tensioning is described in the NRG 80m XHD TallTower Installation Manual and Specificationshttp://www.nrgsystems.com/TechSupport/Documentation.aspx
