The magnitude of the tension forces ? 375 lbs for the 3/8 inch cable and 255 lbs for the 5/16 in cable ? requires use of a mechanical assist. We used a technique described in the ANSI standard, the Tangent Intercept Method, which is a line-of-sight method.
