pcorcoran Posted April 6, 2011 Report Share Posted April 6, 2011 A cotter pin is inserted through the base of a #200P direction sensor to secure it to the mounting boom. We recommend inserting the cotter pin from the positive (+) side as shown in the picture below. This will result in the ends of the cotter pin being on the same side as the negative (-) terminal. Spread apart the ends of the cotter pin so it will not fall out of the cotter pin hole. Inserting the cotter pin from the positive side avoids a potential electrical short between the ends of the cotter pin and the positive terminal.
