elsears
aside from POPAuto is there a way to automate (e.g. command-line) the process of importing a .rwd and outputting a txt file? Thanks for any info, Edward
David Carlson
Hello Edward, It is possible to run SDR as a script by running it from a command line: C:\NRG\SymDR\SDR.exe /S Cheers, Dave

shackinballard
I'd love to know a way to bypass popauto and sdr and turn the .rwd files into .txt files for database import. Is this possible? Thanks for any information.
David Carlson
Hi Shackinballard, Thanks for your question. SDR is necessary to convert any *.rwd files into txt format. *.rwd files store unscaled, raw data. In order to view this data as real values, it must pass through SDR so that the proper scaling may be applied. Dave
johng
Hi - Unfortunately, there is no way to bypass SDR to convert RWD files to TXT. However, SDR is callable via a scriptable command line interface (under Windows) using command line switches. Please see the application note "Automation of Symphonie Data Retriever" for more details. Thanks!
shackinballard
That is the assumption I am working under. However, we store the slope and offset in a database (SQL Server) and -ideally- would like to apply these ourselves rather than using SDR which requires us to use windows scripting (a bit dated approach). It was worth a try. In that regard, is there any switch to turn off all of the header information in the .txt files. The column titles are fine, but the other information plays havoc with a bug/feature in SQL Server. Appreciate the help. Cheers
